We need to go honey

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Today is September 24th and our very first Zone Conference. Our President is so young but oh so wise. He told many experiences from the California Mission President's recent conference where they met with Elder Christofferson and were taught from the Preach My Gospel Manual. Every message and truth contained in it has been sifted and every word is important. Sister Wade took the challenge that we were given from Elder Christofferson to come to know the Prophet Joseph...she told much of his history in a very personal way. He was every inch a Prophet. President had been touched when listening to the Christus presentation dialogue which said, "My Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross." (IIINe. 27:14) What a loving Father to allow His Son to atone and what a dear brother we have in our Savior to be willing to atone for our misdeeds and infirmities. President said that he once read a book that was written by an LDS author who made a statement that the Savior didn't suffer for each and every sin...just for enough. He corrected that statement and reminded us that He did experience the suffering for each of our individual sorrows and sufferings and sins. We are blessed to know that our part it to accept and repent and come unto the Lord....show faith, repent, accept the ordinances of baptism by water and the spirit.

There is now a sign outside of Grandpa and Grandma Kunz home..."we have packed up our belongings and headed to the mission field"...it is supposed to be "white and already to harvest" but looks alot like blueskies, green mountains with a sacred white edifice reaching to the sky and a gorgeous bay out to the west. We arrived here in Oakland on Tuesday the 9th of September, 2009.

1st Week

This 1st week has been a quiet one. Elder and Sister Kunz arrived in Oakland and the phone communication has been a limited. I talked to them this morning and they said that they have been in training all week long and have had no extra time. They have been assigned to a Spanish Branch and so Bryce is trying to find his Spanish lessons so that they can become fluent in Espanol. They are moving in some furniture this morning so that they don't have to stand up while eating meals. They will be getting the internet and a phone in the apartment next week, but keep sending those letters to them.
